Israel resumes strikes on Gaza, over 400 killed in one night

Israel launched heavy airstrikes across the Gaza Strip early Tuesday after weeks of escalating tensions and ceasefire violations. The strikes targeted multiple areas, including Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Rafah, with Palestinian health officials reporting 404 fatalities, including women and children.
The Israeli military stated it was targeting Hamas infrastructure and signaled a possible expansion of operations. Israeli Prime Minister ordered intensified action, while Defense Minister attributed the renewed offensive to stalled negotiations over hostage releases.
The ceasefire agreement, brokered in January, had been deteriorating due to disputes over aid access and military withdrawals. As violence escalates, concerns grow over Gaza’s humanitarian crisis.
Israel’s 18-month war on Gaza has levelled much of the enclave, reducing homes, hospitals and schools to rubble. Israeli forces have so far killed more than 48,000 people in the territory, according to Palestinian health authorities.
