France: Mosque under construction receives offensive letter containing death threats


A mosque under construction, in the French city of Strasbourg, received a letter that included death threats and insults to the Islamic religion.
The mosque belonging to the “Mili Gorush” organization of the Islamic community, whose construction is continuing, will be the largest mosque in Europe after its opening.
The letter, entitled “Declaration of War”, indicated that “there is no place for the Islamic religion in France.”
The letter called on Muslims to choose between residence on the territory of France or the Islamic religion.
The letter did not reveal the identity of the party behind it.
Eyup Sahin, head of the eastern region in France with the “Milli Gorush” organization, told Anatolia, that they had previously received such threats.
He pointed out that such threats have increased in recent years.
After its construction, the mosque is scheduled to accommodate 5,000 people, making it the largest mosque in Europe.
