Shia Rights Watch releases its monthly report on anti-Shia violations

Shia Rights Watch (SRW)—an international pro-Shia rights organization—has released its monthly report, shedding light on the grave violations Shia Muslim communities faced across several countries in the past month.

In Pakistan, the report said that Parachinar remains under siege by extremist groups, leading to severe shortages of food, medicine, and fuel, adding that the humanitarian crisis has claimed the lives of 128 children due to a lack of medical supplies.

Despite the delivery of a ton of medicine via helicopter, SRW emphasized that the situation remains dire, highlighting that extremist groups executed and mutilated two young men from the city, broadcasting the killings online. Authorities also detained cleric Syed Yashan Ali upon his return to the country.

In Bahrain, detainee Hussain Ali Aman died in Jaw Prison due to medical neglect. Authorities have barred Shia Friday prayers in Duraz for 13 consecutive weeks, while detainee Ammar Abdul Ghani’s health has deteriorated from similar neglect.

The report added that Bahrain’s security forces also stormed the prison to disperse a protest. Meanwhile, Shia citizens continue to face systemic exclusion from government jobs.

SRW reported that Lebanon had witnessed an Israeli airstrike on the village of Haris, which killed six members of a single family. In Tripoli, a bus driver was assassinated, and Syrian Shia refugees were abducted by extremist groups targeting their faith.

In Syria, over 2,000 displaced individuals from Nubl and Zahraa were blocked by armed groups from evacuating, leading to deaths from cold and hunger. An attack on a religious shrine in Aleppo resulted in the deaths of its guards.

More than 100,000 Shia civilians were forcibly displaced to Lebanon under extremist threats. The terrorist group ISIS carried out mass executions of over 100 Shia soldiers and set fire to the shrine of Sheikh Mohammed Al-Ajami.

In Saudi Arabia, the report said that authorities arrested several Shia citizens, including Mohammed Abdul Rahim Al-Faraj in Al-Awamiyah and businessman Hussain Al-Sheikh. They executed Ahmed Saleh Al-Kaabi in Qatif and detained organizers of a cultural event in Al-Awamiyah.

In Iraq, SRW emphasized thta security forces successfully thwarted a terrorist bombing attempt in Kirkuk, arresting a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest. The report underscores the widespread suffering endured by Shia communities and calls for urgent international action to protect their rights and ensure their safety.
