Iraq announces receiving nearly 5,000 Lebanese citizens over past ten days

The spokesperson for the Iraqi Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, revealed that “Iraq has received nearly 5,000 Lebanese citizens over the past 10 days through Baghdad and Najaf airports, as well as the Al-Qaim border crossing”.

In a statement followed by Shia Waves Agency, Miri noted that “the Residency Affairs Directorate continues the process of extending the stay of Lebanese citizens in Iraq for an additional 30 days without the need for them to travel, with the possibility of further extensions based on residency law provisions. Lebanese citizens are also granted entry visas free of charge.”

He explained that “this comes in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister and the supervision of the Minister of Interior.” Miri confirmed that “Lebanese citizens can enter the country without a visa, through a simple entry stamp, as per previous instructions.”
