Al-Askariyyen Holy Shrine honors 1,000 girls upon reaching legal age of puberty

Coinciding with the honorable birth anniversary of Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, more than a thousand young girls celebrated reaching the legal age of puberty.

In an atmosphere of joy and happiness, the Askariyyain Holy Shrine organized a ceremony which honored more than 1,000 girls, who have reached the legal age of puberty.

According to the official website of the Askariyyain Holy Shrine, “The ceremony included many events and activities, including delivering speeches and poems in honor of Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her; emphasizing the importance of wearing the hijab.”

This ceremony is a significant event for the Shia community in Iraq; as it celebrates the blessed birth of Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, and it is also a reminder of the importance of wearing the hijab for Muslim women.
