Canadian magazine publishes article on major role Sayyeda Zainab played after Karbala Day

The Canadian “Muslim Girl” magazine, which is published once in 15 days, released an article on the great role Sayyeda Zainab, the Prophet Muhammad’s granddaughter (peace be upon them) played after the martyrdom of her brother, Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

The magazine, in its article headlined “Karbala: Millions of Muslims participate in the Largest Peaceful Gathering”, said that “Imam Hussein refused to pay allegiance to the tyrant Yazid for he could not see the religion of his grandfather—Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) to be in the hands of a person who did not know its values”

The article added that “The Imam’s rejection to pay allegiance to Yazid prompted him to deploy a huge army to fight the Imam on the land of Karbala,” pointing out that “The army brutally killed the Imam, his family members and loyal companions.”

The article continued that “Amongst the other atrocities that took place on Karbala Day was that Imam Hussein’s sister, Sayyeda Zainab (peace be upon them) his wives, children and other women were led in chains as captives to Syria.”

It concluded that “Upon their release, the Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, and the other women returned to to visit the graves of the martyrs; since then millions of the followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, have continued to commemorate this day.”
