Shia Muslims celebrate birth anniversary of Imam Hussein’s beloved daughter, Sayyeda Ruqayya

Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, around the world have celebrated the blessed birth anniversary of Imam Hussein’s beloved daughter, Sayyeda Ruqayya, peace be upon them.

Sayyeda Ruqayyah, peace be upon her, whose birth is marked on Sha’ban 22, lived only four years after the battle of Karbala on the tenth of Muharram, and she saw the tragedy that befell her father and family members and the injustice they faced at the hands of the enemies of Islam.

According to the correspondent of Shia Waves Agency in Syria, the Holy Shrine of Sayyed Ruqayya in Damascus, hosted joyful ceremonies and the holy courtyard was covered in roses and flowers to show love and loyalty to Imam Hussein and his family, peace be upon them.

These celebrations coincide with the blessed births of Ahlulbayt’s ’s births. It is worth mentioning that the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Hussein al-Shirazi, urges Muslims to revive Sayyeda Ruqayya’s memory and other occasions and rituals of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.
