More than 20 international human rights organizations sent a joint letter to the ruler of Bahrain, Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa, and his crown prince, Salman Hamad Al-Khalifa, calling on them to immediately and unconditionally release the detained academic, Dr. Abduljalil Al-Singace.
The organizations said that Dr. Al-Singace is serving a life sentence in Bahrain, simply for practicing his human rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, and the European Parliament adopted an urgent resolution calling for his release on December 14, 2022, along with other prisoners who were arrested and sentenced simply for practicing their right, according to the Human Rights Watch website.
