Libraries of Imam Hussain and Imam Redha Holy Shrines to expand cooperation
The special library of the Holy Prophet’s Infallible Household in Imam Redha Holy Shrine, northeastern Iran, has signed an MOU with the library of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine in Karbala, Iraq, in a bid to expand cooperation.
Deputy of Organization of Libraries, Museums and Documents, Hossein Khosravi, signed the memorandum in a meeting with the head of cultural affairs in Imam Hussein Holy Shrine library.
According to Khosravi, the library in Imam Redha Holy Shrine is rich in Arabic sources, which amount to more than 700 thousand topics in over 5 million volumes.
He also pointed to some Arabic works by Persian authors such as those written by Adib Neishaburi.
For his part, Ra’ed al-Haidari welcomed the expansion of relations, and in comparison to cultural centers in other Islamic countries, praised Imam Redha Holy Shrine library for the number of reference books, standards of preservation, and provision of services.
The two sides agreed over a number of issues such as running joint research projects, enhancing scientific capacity and enriching the references in the two centers, exchanging digital resources, magazines and other materials.
