Followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, call on Iranian government to lift restrictions imposed on Ayatollah Hussein al-Shirazi
A large group of the followers of the Shirazi Religious Authority and other religious authorities have demanded, during the past few days, the Iranian authorities to lift restrictions imposed on Ayatollah Hussein Shirazi, son of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Huuseini al-Shirazi, may Allah prolong his life, and that he be allowed to practice his natural rights and freedoms, foremost of which is freedom of expression and freedom of movement and travel.
Ayatollah Shirazi was arrested more than once, including his arrest in 2018, and the last time was at Tehran International Airport, late July, where it lasted for hours, and his passport was permanently taken.
The loyal Shia followers said in separate statements and conversations to (Shia Waves News Agency): “Ayatollah Shirazi has become directly targeted by the Iranian authorities, as he was subjected to arrests more than once, and he was also prevented from traveling.”
They added that “the repeated detention by the Iranian authorities of Ayatollah Shirazi is completely rejected, and is considered an infringement on the position of the Shirazi Religious Authority, which has an a long history and honorable positions.”
The authorities took this decision due to the positions of Ayatollah Shirazi towards the ruling regime and his criticism and pointing out the regime’s negative aspects, in addition to his defense of the establishment of the holy Husseini rituals, through his speeches.
