Daily scientific session of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi with scholars, believers in Qom
The daily scientific session of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, was held in the presence of scholars, virtuous people, and believers, on Wednesday 27 Dhul-Hijjah 1443 AH (27/7/2022), and one of the attendees asked:
“What does ‘Rad al-Madhalim’ (Returning usurped property/money to its rightful owner) mean?”
His Eminence replied:
“Rad al-Madhalim means the rights that a person owes, and these rights may be financial or non-financial, and the person does not know their owners, or is unable to reach them, in this case he must pay its monetary equivalent instead in the name of their owners. These amounts are for the poor and orphans, mourning ceremonies for the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and their pilgrims.”
After that, the session continued with many other questions raised by the attendees, and His Eminence the Shirazi authority answered, including: some issues of Zakat and Khoms, the obligation to pray for the dead even for the corrupt and hypocritical Muslim, and the prohibition of entering and leaving lineage.
