The international news agency, Prensa Latina, published a report in which it praised the human and moral values that accompany the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
In its report, the agency said, “The Arbaeen is one of the major Islamic events for honoring the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, Imam Hussein ibn Ali, peace be upon them, who was assassinated by the followers of the Umayyad tyrant Yazid after an unequal battle that erupted on the land of Karbala in the year 680AD.”
“The participants in this pilgrimage walk about 80 kilometers from the holy city of Najaf to the holy city of Karbala in huge numbers despite the reduction in the number of foreign pilgrims by the Iraqi government in the wake of the spread of the Coronavirus.”
The report added, “Along the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, many service tents were set up to provide free meals and drink throughout the walk, in which millions of Muslims and non-Muslims participated, showing their reverence for Hussein, peace be upon him, as a symbol of the values of honesty, humility and sincerity that all human beings call for.
