Six Shia candidates in Kuwait’s parliamentary elections

The AFP news agency said that the new parliamentary elections in Kuwait came different this time, with the victory of young names under the age of 45, including 6 Shias, which sent a promising signal to young people who hope for change and reform.
The news agency said in a report followed by ShiaWaves that “the Kuwaiti opposition acquired nearly half of the seats in Parliament in the elections amid calls for reforms due to corruption,” explaining that “candidates belonging to the opposition have won 24 seats.
These are the first elections since the new emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, assumed power in September, after the death of his half-brother Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at the age of 91.
Kuwaiti analyst Ayed Al-Manea said, “There is a major change in the formation of the new parliament,” stressing that “this is an indication of the voters’ anger at the performance of the previous parliament and their desire for economic, health, educational and service change.
