The ninth annual “Generation of the Quran” competition recently concluded in Ljubljana, Slovenia, drawing over 1,000 participants from across the country, Iqna reported.

Hosted at the Islamic Cultural Center in the capital, this event stands as one of Slovenia’s most prominent yearly Islamic gatherings, attracting students of all ages, along with parents and educators involved in Quranic and Arabic studies.

This year’s competition featured eight categories focused on the theme “The Morals of a Muslim in the Quran and Sunnah.” Contestants competed in memorizing specific Quranic chapters and explored topics such as the Prophet Muhammad’s biography (peace be upon him and his pure family), the lives of his Companions, the pillars of Islam, and Islamic ethics. A total of 139 male and female participants took part, according to The Peninsula.

Organized annually by the Islamic Community in Slovenia, the event includes contributions from 18 Quranic learning centers nationwide. These centers offer weekly lessons in Quran memorization, Islamic theology, the Prophet’s life (Sirah), and moral teachings, aiming to foster Islamic values among youth within a multicultural environment.

The closing event featured Quran recitations, educational videos, children’s activities, and honored more than 50 winners. Teachers and volunteers were also recognized for their contributions.
