The Malaysian city of Bintulu in Sarawak is set to host the third edition of the International Islamic Arts Festival (iFest 2025) from August 18 to 23. Organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia in collaboration with the state’s Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, the event will run under the theme “Islamic Arts as a Catalyst for National Prosperity.”
According to The Sarawak Tribune, the festival will showcase a modern vision of Islamic civilization through artistic and interactive programs that merge creativity with spiritual and cultural identity. iFest 2025 will feature six main competitions: Islamic calligraphy, archery, Quran recitation, religious oratory, storytelling, and more.
Open to students and the general public alike, the event aims to foster unity and values-based education. Organizers hope the festival will serve as a platform to revive Islamic heritage and inspire future generations through the fusion of faith, culture, and creativity.
