10,000 marriages recorded at Imam Ali Shrine in 2024

Imam Ali Holy Shrine has reported nearly 10,000 official marriage contracts registered during 2024, with a monthly average ranging from 800 to 1,000. The numbers notably rise during religious months like Rajab, Sha’ban, and Ramadan, reflecting the spiritual appeal of beginning married life during sacred times.

Registrations halt completely during Muharram, Safar, and the passing anniversaries of the Infallible Imams of Ahlulbayt peace be upon them, out of respect for these solemn occasions.

Couples come from across Iraq and abroad—including Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, India, Pakistan, and the U.S.—highlighting the shrine’s spiritual and symbolic significance in promoting family values among followers of Ahlulbayt.
