Death toll of journalists in Gaza rises to 191 since war began in 2023

The Government Media Office in Gaza reported on Saturday that the number of Palestinian journalists killed since the onset of Israel’s war on the enclave on October 7, 2023, has risen to 191.

The latest victim, Mandooh Ibrahim Qaneita, worked as an editor for Al-Aqsa TV. The office condemned the targeting of journalists, holding the Israeli military fully accountable and calling on the international community to take action against these violations.

The war has plunged Gaza into an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with over 149,000 killed and injured, including many women and children, and more than 11,000 missing. Severe shortages of food and medicine have led to famine, causing the deaths of dozens of children and elderly individuals.

Despite international calls, including UN Security Council resolutions and orders from the International Court of Justice to cease hostilities and address the dire humanitarian situation, Israel continues its military operations.
