Google Develops AI to Enhance Web Browsing Experience
Alphabet’s Google is reportedly developing an artificial intelligence system, code-named Project Jarvis, designed to take over web browsers for tasks like research and shopping, Reuters reported yesterday.
According to a report by The Information, the technology will be showcased in December alongside the release of its flagship Gemini large language model. This initiative aims to create a more autonomous browsing experience, allowing the AI to perform tasks without user intervention.
In a competitive landscape, Microsoft is also exploring similar capabilities through its partnership with OpenAI, which involves a computer-using agent (CUA) that can autonomously browse the web. Both Google and Anthropic are advancing the concept of software that directly interacts with users’ computers, potentially revolutionizing how individuals engage with online content.
