The European Union has expressed deep concern over the rising violence in the occupied West Bank, calling on all sides to avoid escalation and work toward reducing tensions following clashes that left several Palestinians and Israelis dead.

In a statement issued on Friday, an EU spokesperson expressed condolences to the families of those killed and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, warning that the latest developments highlight the fragile security situation in the region. The latest escalation followed deadly clashes near the Palestinian village of Tell, southwest of Nablus, where four Palestinians and two Israeli soldiers were killed, according to reports.
