The Spanish Ambassador to Iraq, Alicia Rico, visited the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in Holy Karbala, marking her first visit to the province.
Rico expressed her joy during the visit, saying, “I am very pleased with my first visit to Karbala province, and it is an honor for me to visit the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.”
The Spanish Ambassador explained that Spain is working on developing bilateral relations with Iraq, pointing to a long history of cooperation between the two countries.
Rico also emphasized the importance of her visit to Karbala in solidifying relations with Iraq, stating that the goal is to promote safety in all countries and spread the culture of peace among religions, regarding Karbala as a symbol that unites various religions and cultures.
