Holy Najaf Governor announces readiness for blessed Eid-ul-Ghadir

The Governor of Holy Najaf, Yousef Kanawi, announced comprehensive preparations and advanced plans to receive millions of pilgrims on Eid al-Ghadir, the Greatest Eid of God.

Kanawi, in a security conference held at the Najaf Police Headquarters, emphasized that this pilgrimage will be different from previous visits, given its profound religious significance and great importance in the hearts of believers.

The governor explained that security forces would be ready for immediate intervention as needed, citing past experiences during the commemoration of Imam Ali’s martyrdom and effective handling of the changing situations and security challenges related to large gatherings.

Regarding the security arrangements for the pilgrimage, Kanawi confirmed that precise plans have been put in place to facilitate the entry of pilgrims to the holy shrine without congestion, activating emergency procedures, and civil defense support to deal with any potential incidents.
