UN: More than 600,000 children in Gaza denied education as war rages on
The ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict has denied over 600,000 children in Gaza access to education, according to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees.
Schools in the region have been forced to remain closed, robbing children of their childhood and leaving many with deep trauma.
The UN agency stated that while their teams continue to support Palestinian children’s return to learning, more action is urgently needed.
The conflict has had a devastating impact, with the Palestinian death toll rising to over 37,000 and thousands more wounded. The UN emphasized that children always suffer the most in times of war and called for an immediate ceasefire to address this education crisis.
