The German news agency “Deutsche Welle” published a video report shedding light on the diminishing spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan in Pakistan this year due to the economic crisis.
The prominent agency stated in its report, translated by Shia Waves Agency, that “religious celebrations during Holy Ramadan in Pakistan have been less active this year,” attributing the reason to “the ongoing economic crisis and obstacles that have hit the country.”
The report quotes several families confirmed that they are “struggling to buy basic food items, with some even having no food to break their fasting.
The report highlighted that Pakistani citizens have reported having to sell their personal belongings such as motorcycles and laptops to provide proper meals for their fasting family members.
