Twin suicide bombers have sneaked into the University of Maiduguri, Borno state, and detonated heavy explosives at a mosque near of the institution.

 

Twin suicide bombers have sneaked into the University of Maiduguri, Borno state, and detonated heavy explosives at a mosque near of the institution.

Eyewitnesses told Saharareporters that an explosion rocked the university during early morning while some students and staff of the university were observing prayer at 6:30 am.

Monday’s explosion comes less than three days after four suicide bombers killed 15 people in Madagali town in the northern part of Adamawa State.

It was not clear if the explosions came from suicide bombers or were planted bombs, police said.

Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, it is believed to have been carried out by Boko Haram terrorists.
