700 Shia Pilgrims threaten to march towards Quetta from Taftan Border

To register protest against the non-provision of security escort to their motorcade for last 10 days, stuck Shia pilgrims have threatened to begin marching on foot to Quetta from Taftan border on their own.

 

To register protest against the non-provision of security escort to their motorcade for last 10 days, stuck Shia pilgrims have threatened to begin marching on foot to Quetta from Taftan border on their own.

The pilgrims, who had returned from pilgrimage of Iraq and Iran via Taftan border of Pakistan, 10 days ago, were not allowed to leave the border area because of what they were told the security threat.

Last night, the pilgrims staged protest outside Pakistan House on Taftan border town and threatened to begin travelling on foot. 

The pilgrims included 200 women, 30 disabled persons and many elderly and children.
