Shia mourners hold symbolic funeral of Sayyeda Umm al-Banin in Holy Karbala

A large crowd of people gathered in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq on Thursday Dec. 28, to participate in the symbolic funeral of Sayyeda Umm al-Banin, peace be upon her.

The funeral procession began at the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and ended at the shrine of his brother Abu al-Fadl al-Abbas, peace be upon him.

The mourners carried the symbolic coffin of Sayyeda Umm al-Banin, peace be upon her, reciting poems in her honor.

The procession was also attended by a large number of women, who expressed their condolences and sadness over this painful occasion and the sacrifices Sayyeda Umm al-Banin, peace be upon her, made on the day of Ashura.
