SRW condemns terrorist attacks on Nubl and Zahra towns in northern Syrian Aleppo………………….
Shia Rights Watch (SRW) condemned the recent terrorist operations that targeted innocent civilians in the towns of Nubl and Zahra north of the Syrian city of Aleppo, calling on the official authorities to shoulder their responsibility to protect civilians.
The organization said in a statement viewed by Shia Waves Agency that it “received documented data indicating the killing and injury of more than 23 civilians in shelling by the terrorist organization of the Nusra Front that targeted the towns of Nubl and Zahra, most of whom were women and children.”
It explained that “the terrorist targeting is concentrated on residential neighborhoods that are free of military presence, indicating that those armed groups deliberately target civilians.”
The organization continued that “the recent wave shelling that targeted the towns came after a relative calm during the past few years, after the siege imposed by terrorist groups on the towns’ residents, which lasted for several months, was broken.”
In conclusion, the organization warned of the “danger of escalating terrorist acts targeting civilians in Nubl and Zahra and repeating the scenario of targeting civilians on a wider scale,” stressing at the same time the need to distance the innocent from these crimes.
