Pakistan passes a new blasphemy law

Tahaffuz Namoos Sahaba Bill which has just been passed from the Senate, insure the protection of the sahaba of the Holy prophet (peace be upon him).

The punishment of this particular law can increase from 3 years to lifetime imprisonment, nort less than 10 years.

Many have come to social media in order to express their outrage as it leaves Shia in a very difficult situation as throughout the years countless Shias in Pakistan have been booked in bogus blasphemy cases for proclaiming their faith.

These false charges had led them to be beaten up, imprisoned or even worse it would many times lead to their death.

Shias and non Shias are taken this to the streets of Pakistan arguing that the definitions of ‘companions’ are very unclear and this could lead to great sectarianism within the country.
