At Least 50 Boko Haram Insurgents Killed in Nigeria Convoy Attack

On Wednesday, November 20, a convoy monitoring Nigeria’s power grid was ambushed by approximately 200 Boko Haram fighters, resulting in the deaths of at least 50 insurgents and leaving seven members of Nigeria’s Civil Defence Corps missing, Reuters reported yesterday.

Babawale Afolabi, a spokesperson for the agency, confirmed the attack occurred during a patrol mission aimed at securing infrastructure in the northeast region, where Boko Haram has been active for 15 years.

Despite suffering significant losses due to military operations and internal strife, Boko Haram continues to pose a threat, executing deadly assaults against both civilians and government forces.

In a separate incident in Borno state, five soldiers were killed by suspected insurgents last Saturday, underscoring the ongoing violence in the region.
