Houston: Seminar to discuss issues of Muslim students during the great month of Ramadan
A group of Muslim mothers at the Clear Lake Islamic Center, south of Houston, USA, held a symposium entitled “Know the Muslim Student” to discuss the most important issues related to Muslim students during the holy month of Ramadan.
About 100 Muslim and non-Muslim teachers, and 100 Muslim students, in addition to a number of parents from all over the city of Houston, Texas, participated in the symposium.
The symposium aims to highlight the most important problems facing Muslim students during the fasting period in the great month of Ramadan, as well as educating non-Muslim teachers about the concept of fasting and its importance for the relatives of these students.
As one of the organizers of the symposium, Dina Abdel-Rahman said: “We want to make sure that non-Muslim teachers are aware of the month of Ramadan, in order to help Muslim students complete their fast, and take care of their lessons as well.”
Abdel-Rahman added: “We aim to educate Muslim students and make them aware of the holy month of Ramadan, in an attempt to make it easier for them inside the school.”
