Trump Renews Attacks on Somali Americans and Muslims
————————————————–
US President Donald Trump has renewed his criticism of Somali Americans and Muslims, describing the Somali-American community as a threat to Minnesota and making sweeping claims about immigration and public safety.
On October 8, Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, that Minnesota, which he described as once a great state, was being overwhelmed by Somali immigrants. He also claimed that violence, killings and chaos had spread across the state and urged residents to oppose what he portrayed as a deteriorating situation.
The remarks came hours after Trump labelled Abdul El-Sayed, a Democratic Senate candidate in Michigan, an extremist. The comments have added to concerns over his rhetoric toward immigrant and Muslim communities in the United States.
