Family of four including university teacher killed in Wardak blast

Kandahar University teacher and his four family members were killed and four other people were injured in a bomb blast in central Maidan Wardak province on Tuesday, a local representative said.

Kandahar University teacher and his four family members were killed and four other people were injured in a bomb blast in central Maidan Wardak province on Tuesday, a local representative said.

Akhtar Mohammad Tahiri, the Provincial Council chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened at around 8:00pm in the Ghaghato district when a roadside blast hit a passenger vehicle.

The injured had been shifted to emergency hospital in Kabul.

Hidayatullah Amarkhel, the physics department teacher at Kandahar University, told said that slain Sifatullah Sahel served in the chemistry department.

He said Sahel completed studies till master level. The blast killed Sahel, his brothers, sister and two nieces.
