Grand Ayatollah Shirazi calls for dissemination of the Husseini rituals worldwide and early preparation for Arbaeen

The Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, has called for disseminating the Husseini rituals globally and with all means, stressing that believers should start preparing early for Arbaeen.

His Eminence said in his lecture to mourners on Ashura night, “On the tragic occasion of Ashura, I extend my condolences to the Imam of Our Time, and I pray to the Almighty to hasten his blessed reappearance to lift all problems from the world.”

“Everyone should introduce the reality of the religion of Islam with whatever they are capable of and by any means,” Grand Ayatollah Shirazi said, calling on the rulers of Islamic countries to follow the example of the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny.

His Eminence asserted that it was the holy Husseini rituals that preserved Islam. Were it not for the renaissance of Ashura, the Umayyads would have eliminated Islam, and no trace of it was left, saying, “Throughout my life, I have seen many governments that fought the Husseini rituals, and the result of all these fights and wars was the expansion and spread of rituals, including their fight against the ritual on the morning of Ashura, where they fought for many years, and today millions participate in it, such as the Twereej Run ritual.  

“These rituals must be known universally, and with all possible means.”

The Grand Ayatollah thanked all the believers in Iraq, where they revived the Husseini rituals this year on a large scale, stressing, “The believers should now focus and pay attention to the revival of Arbaeen in order for it to be established as best as possible and even better than previous years.”
