Pakistan: Conference highlights the sacrifices of Imam al-Sajjad (peace be upon him)

The Punjab Arts Council in Pakistan held a special conference on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him), in cooperation with the Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) Central Center and the Diyara Cultural Organization.

According to Urdu Point news website, the conference was chaired by the prominent religious scholar Dr. Ghazanfar Mahdi, in the presence of scientific, cultural and media personalities.

Mahdi said, “The jihad of Imam Zain al-Abidin (peace be upon him) was no less than the painful martyrs of Karbala, as he had great sacrifices after the martyrdom of his father Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).”

Meanwhile, a member of the Islamic Council, Allama Hussain Naqvi, said: “Imam Zayn al-Abidin (peace be upon him) was forced to pass through 65 cities and 234 markets along with the caravan of prisoners of the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) and he endured injustice with them.”

Moreover, Mrs. Rashida Nabil pointed out that “the sermon of Imam al-Sajjad (peace be upon him) in the assembly of the cursed Yazid has become a golden chapter in the history of Islam.”

She added that “the imam (peace be upon him) defended the truth against injustice and falsehood and became a global symbol.”

Yesterday, Shia Muslims in various countries of the world commemorated the martyrdom of Imam Ali bin Al-Hussein Al-Sajjad (peace be upon them).
