Kashmir: Srinagar DC Holds Meeting to Ensure Peaceful Muharram Processions
In preparation for the holy month of Muharram, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Srinagar held a meeting with prominent Shia leaders on Wednesday, Greater Kashmir reported today.
The purpose of the meeting, which was attended by senior Police and administrative officials, was to review the arrangements and facilities being made for the Muharram processions in the district, the source mentioned.
The DC sought suggestions from the Shia community leaders to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Muharram processions. He assured them that all necessary arrangements, including electricity, water, road repairs, sanitation, and medical facilities, would be provided.
The Police also sought cooperation from the Shia community, stating that elaborate security measures were being put in place to facilitate the Muharram processions in Srinagar district.
