3000 service processions from Iran to serve pilgrims of Arbaeen Pilgrimage
With the approach of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, three thousand Husseini processions will come from Iran to serve pilgrims walking towards Holy Karbala.
Hamid Afzali, the Director of Arbaeen Pilgrimage Affairs in Iran, said that “I expect that this year, about 5 million Iranian pilgrims will visit Karbala to participate in the Arbaeen Pilgrimage to Imam Hussein’s Holy Shrine in Karbala, Iraq.”
He added that “As of this year, the processions of the Arbaeen will be held in the hot seasons of Iraq, so the priorities of the procession are the construction of sewage facilities, the provision of bottled drinking water and the provision of cooling equipment for the processions.”
Shia Muslims commemorate the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, which marks forty days after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his pure family, peace be upon them, in the Al-Taf Battle by the tyrant , Yazid ibn Muawiya in the year 60 AH.
