Oman Honors Women’s Contributions to Serving the Quran
——————————-
An event was recently held in the Sultanate of Oman to recognize and honor the significant and multifaceted role of women in serving the Holy Quran, according to the International Quran News Agency (IQNA).
The Omani Society for the Care of the Holy Quran organized the event on Saturday at Al Haq Mosque in the Wilayat of Al Seeb, Muscat Governorate, under the auspices of Sayyidah Al Shaima bint Ghalib al Said.
The day-long event brought together a total of 181 female Quranic figures, scholars, and teachers to highlight their extensive contributions across the country. The initiative specifically sought to celebrate the efforts of Omani women in instructing others in the recitation (Tajweed) and memorization (Hifz) of the Quran, as well as conducting in-depth academic studies on various Quranic sciences. It also appreciated their active role in establishing and running Quranic centers and educational programs within their communities.
The participants represented a broad age spectrum, ranging from the youngest at 12 years old to the eldest at 65 years, demonstrating the intergenerational commitment of Omani women to Quranic knowledge and spiritual development.
