Eleven members of the Afghan security forces were killed by a roadside bomb when a police patrol was passing by, in the Khash district of Badakhshan province, northern Afghanistan.

The incident came hours after the US military announced that it had launched two air strikes targeting Taliban terrorist elements.
American spokesman Sony Legate, in a tweet on Twitter, said that the raids were carried out on Thursday and Friday in two different states in Afghanistan, and targeted more than 20 Taliban militants.
