New calls to London to stop arms sales to Saudi Arabia
The British newspaper, The Guardian, published a report, in which it spoke of Britain facing new calls to end unrestricted arms sales to Saudi Arabia, after the CIA published a report in which it concluded that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had ordered the killing of the opposition journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The newspaper added that charities, civil rights groups and other organizations said that this report contributed to highlighting the UK’s traditional close relationship with Riyadh.
For its part, Oxfam said that the United Kingdom should follow in the footsteps of the Biden administration, which pledged to stop arms sales to Riyadh that could be used in the long-running war in Yemen.
