Social media users responded angrily to anti-Quran comments by a Lebanese journalist and author.
Badiya Fahs has recently posted a clip on social media networks in which she claims the teachings of the Quran case violence against women in Muslim societies.
She claimed that despite scientific and technological advances in the world and while this is the age of human rights, many women in the Muslim world and the Middle East are suffering because of “religious texts”.
Many have reacted to the comments, stressing that injustices done to women have nothing to the Quran and true Islamic teachings.
Asaad Abu Khalil, a university scholar in San Francisco, the United States, refuted the claims, saying violence against women is seen much more in the US than many Muslim countries.
