Shirazi World Foundation Condemns Attacks on Religious Authorities and Warns of Threats to Civil Peace
The Shirazi World Foundation has strongly condemned and denounced the attacks on the status of religious authorities of the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), warning of serious repercussions that threaten civil peace in the Middle East and the world as a whole. This stance came in response to quasi-official statements issued by hostile media outlets, which included public insults directed at Shia religious authorities.
In a statement received by the “ShiaWaves,” the foundation pointed out that the media attacks against religious authorities are part of malicious attempts to incite discord and promote hatred and violence against Shia Muslims. It added that these attempts include intensive campaigns on social media and satellite channels managed by Zionist platforms, aimed at igniting sectarian conflicts and threatening stability in the region.
The foundation clarified that these assaults represent a blatant violation of international laws and charters that criminalize incitement to hatred and religious discrimination, emphasizing the need for the international community and relevant human rights organizations to respond to these hostile campaigns. It asserted that the United Nations, as an international umbrella for maintaining peace and security, is required to take a firm stance condemning this blatant infringement on the rights of the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt and to ensure the protection of religious authorities.
The foundation warned that the continuation of these incitement attacks without a clear international response will lead to serious repercussions, not only for civil peace in the countries of the region but also on a global level, calling for the necessity of international efforts to stop such aggressive actions and counter attempts to destabilize the situation.
