UNESCO warns about impact of artificial intelligence on children’s health

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has warned against replacing teachers with artificial intelligence programs, saying that this could affect children’s emotional well-being and put them at risk of manipulation.

The recent UNESCO guidance urges governments to act “quickly to discipline the use of artificial intelligence tools in classrooms, and limit their use even for older children.”

The agency said government officials are not prepared to manage the ethical issues associated with relying on artificial intelligence programs in the school environment.
