Shia Rights Watch Urges Trump to Raise Shia Rights in Talks with Gulf Leaders

The Shia Rights Watch organization has sent a letter to U.S. President Donald Trump urging him to address the protection of Shia citizens’ rights during his discussions with Gulf leaders.

In the letter, the organization stated that Shia citizens in Arab countries are an integral part of their societies and should not have their religious identity associated with any foreign state.

The group called for supporting equal citizenship, combating discrimination, protecting freedom of worship and religious institutions, releasing individuals detained for peacefully exercising their religious rights, and rejecting sectarian incitement.

Shia Rights Watch also urged the U.S. president to use Washington’s influence and relations with Arab countries to promote peace, stability, and religious freedom for all citizens. The organization emphasized that protecting Shia communities is, in its view, a matter of justice and national unity rather than a concession to any external party.
