Construction of new Baghdad-to-Karbala Road begins in service of Arbaeen pilgrims

Ali Al-Miyali, Second Deputy governor of Holy Karbala, announced that the construction of the first phase of the new road connecting Baghdad to the holy city of Karbala has officially started.

The project is mainly aimed at facilitating the movement of pilgrims, especially during the days of Husseini Arbaeen.

He further added: Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani officially issued the order for this initiative so that this part of the route can be put into use for the upcoming Arbaeen and be ready to welcome pilgrims.

It should be mentioned that the route is 13 kilometers long.
