Ancient Shia mosque in Cairo restored, reopens to devotees and visitors

Egypt’s Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah Mosque, construction dating back to 990 AD and finished in 1302 AD, for the, has in recent months been reopened after an extensive 30-month restoration under the Ahlul Bayet Heritage Project.
The grandeur of the mosque, located in Ancient Cairo’s Gamaliya District, has been revived, offering a place of worship, cultural significance, and scientific knowledge for the people of Cairo.
