The World Health Organization has announced that the coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca is probably the leading and most advanced vaccine in the world today.
The chief scientist of the organization stated that the Moderna vaccine is also a candidate, adding that it is “not far” from the progress made by the AstraZeneca vaccine.
He added, “The organization is currently negotiating with a number of Chinese drug manufacturers about possible vaccines for Covid-19.”
The Italian Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, announced earlier this month that Italy, Germany, France and the Netherlands signed a contract with the company “AstraZeneca” to produce a successful vaccine against the coronavirus.
He pointed out that the vaccine was developed thanks to studies conducted by Oxford University.
It is worth noting that the Iraqi Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Hazem Al-Jumaili, announced, on Thursday, that Iraq is communicating with the company “AstraZeneca” to reserve a quantity of the Coronavirus vaccine, which is to be distributed soon if the study is successful.
AstraZeneca is a multinational English-Swedish company specializing in the manufacture of biopharmaceuticals and pharmaceuticals.
