Al-Kadhumiya Holy Shrine expects to receive 10 million pilgrims to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Kadhum, peace be upon him
The General Secretariat of Al-Kadhumiya Holy Shrine said that millions of pilgrims from various Iraqi provinces continue to walk towards the capital, Baghdad, to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam al-Kadhum, peace be upon him, stressing its full readiness to embrace the pilgrims and provide the necessary services for them.
The Deputy Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine, Saad Al-Hajiya, said in a press statement followed by Shia Waves that “the decline of the Corona virus contributed to the influx of millions of pilgrims to the Holy Shrine a week before the visit, unlike the past few years, when pilgrims arrived just two days before the visit due to the pandemic.”
He pointed out that “hundreds of Husseini service tents were spread in the area to serve the pilgrims,” adding that “the number of pilgrims is likely to reach 7-10 million, including thousands from Lebanon, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Pakistan, Iran and other nationalities.”
