The Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi in Mazar-i-Sharif commemorates Ashura
The Office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, in the city of Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan, commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Mourning councils were held in which clerics, religious and cultural figures, and general followers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, participated.
The ceremonies were held from the first day of the holy month of Muharram, which included religious lectures that shed light on the tragic Ashura tragedy, its events, and the importance of reviving the holy Husseini rituals.
Many Muslim and non-Muslim countries witnessed the establishment of Ashura commemoration ceremonies in memory of the martyrdom of the grandson of the Noble Prophet, Imam Hussain, peace be upon him.
