The International Imamiya Medical Organization in California, USA, launched a blood donation campaign in the name of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in cooperation with the SMC Foundation.
The organization called on all members of the Shia community in California to participate in the blood donation campaign and to rescue the sick and wounded in hospitals.
The organization said in a brief statement published on its website and followed by Shia Waves, “The humanitarian initiative bore the name of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, to contribute to saving people’s lives and providing the necessary blood for them.”
It added that “the Shia community has a great opportunity to donate blood, through three centers: The Zainabiyah Islamic Society, the Great Prophet Mosque, peace be upon him and his progeny, and the Jafari Islamic Society.
The organization pointed out that “this initiative is an opportunity for every Shia Muslim to contribute by donating blood and saving the lives of others.”
