At least six people, including paramilitary personnel, were killed and over 32 injured in a bombing targeting a Frontier Corps (FC) bus near Turbat in Balochistan province on Saturday, local news outlets reported.
Officials reported the bus was en route from Karachi to Turbat when it was attacked approximately seven kilometers west of the city. Local authorities indicated it was likely a suicide attack aimed at the paramilitary troops.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), a separatist group, claimed responsibility, stating the attack targeted a Pakistani army convoy. Similar attacks were carried out by the BAL, citing grievances over resource exploitation and marginalization in the region.
Balochistan has long been plagued by violence, with frequent attacks on security forces and infrastructure. This year alone, Pakistan has seen a significant rise in militant activity, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.
